OPI launches a training program in Hodeidah

IMG 6882~2The undersecretary of Hodeidah province, Hashim Azazi affirmed importance of the role of women and civil society in combating corruption in Hodeidah, calling for the empowerment of women to participate in political and economic decision in Yemen.

 

He delivered a short-speech in the opening of a training session held by Yemen Organization for Promoting Integrity (OPI) in partnership with the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) in Hodeidah city aiming to advocate for women's participation in political and economic decision in Yemen, and to strengthen its role and potentials in anti-corruption.

The kick-off included a training course for four days targeted 30 actors among women leaders in the areas of political parties, media, civil society and entrepreneurship in the framework of the whole program that lasts for one year in a couple of Hodeidah and Taiz.

"It aims to empower 60 woman leaders to participate in anti-corruption, monitoring the public money as well as to support woman to get a share in the next public election in accordance with the outcomes of the national dialogue conference, and for the enhancement of the woman partnership in the change and development", said Mr. Ahmed Alzekri, who is the head of OPI.
