OPI trains woman activists the social media for anti-corruption

h4Hodeida, 7 Dec. 2014—Yemen Organization for Promoting Integrity (OPI) launches a training course for using the means of social media in combating corruption and advocacy for women's participation in political and economic decision in the port city of Hodeida.

 

The course targets 15 woman activists among political organizations, the media, civil society organizations and active individuals.

   

Ahmed Alzekri who is the OPI's director said the project aims to advocate on the participation of woman in the public life, for front support her candidacy in the upcoming election according to the outcomes of the national dialogue where she is given the proportion of at least 30% of the seats of the elected bodies, also it seeks to enhance women's role in monitoring the  public money.

 

It is the fourth training within a training program implemented by OPI in collaboration with MEPI to support woman in making the political and economic decision in Yemen, targeting 30 woman activists in Taiz and Hodeida.

 

The participants are working on drafting infield reports on corruption cases in Taiz and Hodeida, OPI will present them in a forthcoming workshop and then to be prospectively submitted to the relevant governmental agencies of anti-corruption.
